Why The Stuart ???

If you've ever been there then you will know!

There's something magical about the Stuart Highway, stretching from Port Augusta all the way to beautiful Darwin. To us its more than just a road, it's a ribbon connecting some of the most iconic, raw and unforgettable parts of Australia. And for us travelling it, it's also become an adventure we can't get enough of.

We love the journey both ways. There's an excitement inside as the landscape gradually shifts. The enormity of South Australia slowly gives way to wide open red deserts and rocky escarpments and eventually the tropics of the Top End.

Every stop brings a new story, a new view, a new experience.

Whether it's a quirky roadhouse, a hidden waterhole, an awesome free camp, a campfire, or just stretching our legs under the endless sky.

Then heading North to South has it's own charm, after soaking in the vibe and the heat of the Top End, there's something grounding about seeing the familiar southern stops reappear. It's like the journey is a circle, you arrive at the start again but changed by everything in between.

We always said things like "Let's do it on the Stuart" miles and miles of road your brain starts thinking and playing games, "well, what did you do on the Stuart" Got bored.. Had fun.. got pissed.. made lifetime friends.. free camped.. met likeminded people.. paid shitloads for fuel. Our list is endless. Every twist, turn and long stretch of red dirt gets you thinking and is all part of the great adventure.

One beautiful night after a big day of travelling, sitting around under a beautiful starry sky, talking, laughing with a beer in hand the phrase popped up....IDIOTS.... "I Did It On The Stuart", from then on it became our thing, our phrase, our logo, our badge of honour, a nod to the wild, wonderful, hilarious, and sometimes idiotic fun we have had on our journey.

For us the Stuart is more than just a highway, it's a story, a love letter to the heart of Australia.

Every trip reminds us of why we did it, the freedom of the open road, the joy and the satisfaction of knowing we really did it on the Stuart, many times.

Go do it on the Stuart, it's epic, it's not just the destination it's the journey, the laughs, the memories and all those crazy moments that will make it unforgettable
